My Lucky Day

What a nice day to try out some new film.  Lucky 100SHD 35mm film.  It is completely lacking an ANTI-HALATION layer, so I was expecting some serious blooms.  Sadly, none appeared, perhaps because of the gray skies that loomed overhead.  Either way, this was a very nice day to try out this film.  I really do like the look it gives.  Fine grain, good contrast, and an inexpensive price.

One image I was expsecing some bloom on.  The top of the chain.  The sunlight was fairly strong on it, but nope.  Nothing at all!  No bloom, just a bright spot, and nothing more.  I'll have to go out with this film again sometime, and see if I can get some of that wonderful bloom!

This is a quick way to show concrete who's boss!  Having operated one of these for close to a year, I know the joys of trying to keep it going straight.  You'd think that a big blade like that, and it would track in a straight line fairly easily.  Well, think again! There are a PITA to keep going straight.  Constant small adjustments, and pretty much having to ride the handle and give it small adjustments along the way.  But it is a lot of fun to operate!

Planted in a nice big concrete planter off to the side of the road, this tree is provided a bit of greenery to an otherwise gray area.  Sure, it's outside the Farmer's Market, which is a great place to see and buy some wonderfully priced organic foods, but during the winter months, it is pretty dull!

This old Mercury badge I found in a derelict old Body Shop beside my work.  It's (the body shop) has been out of commission for, going on, 6 years now, with a lot of decay inside, including collapsing ceiling and beams.  The walls are all pretty decayed and crumbling.  But, as usual, you can easily find these wonderful old gems still hiding inside their walls!

Found this little guy laughing away with a bottle of XXX Rum in his hand.  Sitting pleasantly on this tree stump.  It isn't every day you find such jolly gnome, especially one stuck in his basket!
